Test results

Test results are generally discussed with you immediately after a test has taken place. If it is not possible to discuss outcomes with you immediately, your clinician will inform you on when you will receive these results.

You may need to arrange another appointment to discuss what the results mean.

Please note our receptionists are not medically trained and can therefore only pass on what the doctor has told them.

Generally speaking:

  • most blood test results are available up to 7 days
  • most x-rays are available up to 10 days
  • cervical smear results are sent electronically to the Practice two weeks from testing

Results are can be obtained through our Reception staff by either calling 01482 845832 or speaking to them face-to-face.

Your GP will ask Reception to contact you if further discussion or appointment or action is required.

Cervical smear results are now sent electronically to us and arrive approximately two - four weeks from testing.
